Keeping your car clean can sometimes feel like a monumental task, especially if you have young children. But, with a few of these simple car cleaning tips, you can get your car looking like new again, inside and out.
Go from the top down. Whether you are washing the exterior or the interior, start from the top and work your way down. When you do this, all the dirt and dust will fall to the bottom and you get it all in the last step.
Clean under the seats. Slide your seats as far forward or backward as they will go and you may be surprised by how much stuff you will find — lost toys, pocket change, half-full sippy cups, and maybe even a lost cell phone.
Wash your floor mats. Take out all the floor mats in your car and give them a good wash. One simple way to do this is to spray them down with a pressure washer or a hose. If they are any lingering stains, give them a soapy scrub before setting them in the sun to dry.
Wash your upholstery. If you have access to a carpet cleaning machine, use it in your car. Use the handheld attachments to clean your cloth seats and carpeting.
Clean your windows. Wash your windows inside and out using a lint-free cloth and a bottle of Windex. Don’t forget to roll the windows down a little to get rid of that line of grime at the top.
Brush your vents. An easy way to clean out the accumulating dust inside your vents is with a paint brush. The long bristles can reach where you can’t.
Use a two-bucket system. When washing your car’s exterior, you should have two buckets. One bucket is for the soapy water, while the other is clean rinse water. This will help prevent dirt from building up on your cleaning cloths.
After you’ve cleaned your car out, it’s the perfect time to bring it into JAB Automotive for a routine service checkup.
